What is it ?
The 500 MILES ITALY is not a competition and there are no prizes but a legendary pin !
The 500 MILES ITALY is open only to owners of Harley-Davidson and Buell motorcycles.
You dont have to be a HOG or a Chapter member.
You have to respect traffic regulations and if you arrive at a checkpoint too early, you will have to wait for its opening. The opening of the checkpoint is calculated on an average that takes into account the speed limits.
The 500 MILES ITALY is a ride in Italy with a distance of 500 miles ( 805 km.) to be covered in 24 hours.
After the registration and the prologue, the ride starts from a hidden place on Saturday afternoon.
The ride will be divided into stages, approximately 10/12.
At the start, you will be given directions to complete the first stage. At the first checkpoint you will be given the directions for the following stage and so on until the finish. The GPS will not help you except to make you follow a route different than the one indicated in the road book. This will result in non-compliance with controls and riding distances and then … no pin on arrival!
The pin will go to all participants who have all checks stamped and have driven at least 805 km. (this is the reason why the mileage of your bike will be logged at the start of the event).
The cost of registration is € 55.00 which must be received by March 15 in order to cover organizational expenses.
Registration includes subscription to Italy 500 Miles, T-shirt of the event, Italy500miles Farewell Party on Sunday and if you have earned it … the legendary Pin!
